plant your future.

"God has created everything in this universe in due proportion and measure both quantitatively and qualitatively."

"In Islam the utilization of these resources is the right and privilege of all people and all species. Hence, man should take every precaution to ensure the interests and rights of all others since they are equal partners on earth. Similarly, he should not regard such as restricted to one generation above all other generations. It is, rather, a joint responsibility in which each generation uses and makes the best use of nature, according to its need, without disrupting or adversely affecting the interests of future generations. Therefore, man should not abuse, misuse, or distort the natural resources as each generation is entitled to benefit from them but is not entitled to “own” them in an absolute sense."

from the above text, i have referred from http://chitchat85.blogspot.com/2010/10/environmental-protection-in-islam.html as a point of reference and tried to translate it into art.

The urban infill project that I am proposing is on Islamic Digital Art Centre,I have read the text above as a point of reference for my work.

Encik Firdaus, please advise me in any condition as I am producing this work from the website written above as a reference as it might not be translated in the correct manner.
thank you, salam.

ini arkitektur

Salam. Well I don't think I have the most definite answer to what is Architecture. when you asked people in the industry they would give different sorts of answers. But here goes...... This is my definition of architecture, based on my experience for this past 4 semesters, what I understand, some of what I've gone through and what I look forward for...damn it time flies fast.

you guys might know who he is ;) Ted Mosby- Douchebag + Architect
How I Met Your Mother is a tv series which showcase lifestyles of 5 new yorkers- bestfriends- in particular Ted Mosby an Architect-a miserable one which is in search of his wife and becoming a true architect.
Anyway, to begin Architecture is what I call symbolism, landmark, status, surroundings, environment, nature, the future, travelling, experimenting, message, statement, appreciation, philosophy, poetry, music, excitement, creative, soul, fashion, signature, art, history and basically lifestyle.
Architecture combines the thoughtful thinking process of producing ideas from scratch of papers to reality or into the world. To produce 'ARCHITECTURE' one must understand deeply of what they're producing. I personally find Architecture defines YOU. Like any other creative majors like photography, fashion, graphic design, industrial design and basically anything that involves creative and designing, it speaks of what you are, who you are and why you are. Evidently, Architecture allows you to express art into function and be beneficial to the ecosystem- humans, flora and faunas, and not just being subjective and abstract but also be relevant and be applied

What Architecture has taught me the most is patience. Some may climb the stairs much faster than the others but Architecture is no shortcut. To be as awesome as G.BAWA, GAUDI,ZAHA HADID,I. KAHN,Le CORBUSIER, REM KOOLHASS, PETER EISENMEN, FRANK LLYOD WRIGHT, GEHRY, VAN DER ROHE,TADAO ANDO AND MY GURU FIRDAUS FADZIL.HEHE.takes experience.

Being able to design is just pretty awesome, but sometimes  ideas that come out of your brain doesn't necessarily work. What helps is that 'critic session' whereby discussion with lecturers and students takes place. Here, you get to point out your views, case studies, suggestion, perspective and what not into your design. Now, this is part of the process. There are many more process to go through. You will learn that REJECTION will make you STRONGER, COMMUNICATION will improve your CONFIDENCE to convey ideas , REDO (its hard to believe sometimes)will improve your design and NEVER GIVE UP.
Insyallah, in years to come I my name will be PRINTED AWESOMELY along the names of the MASTER ARCHITECTS as mentioned.

A friend of mine (Nik Umar Solihin)  quoted this and he quoted it from somewhere I can't remember, but i strongly believe in this saying;

he's the one in flower power
architect.eyes of photographer.ears of musician.mouth of a lawyer.nose of a hunter.hands of an artist.feet of a traveller.body of an athlete.a heart to serve to God.

ada la some photos here...

Besides that, what makes Architecture interesting is travelling. Now, I know the internet is the most easy access way to see the wonders of architecture through images, videos and comments.
Syukur alhamdullilah I am fortunate enough to travel outside Malaysia even though Malaysia itself is a country with rich culture and great historic background and Architecture. But, see these photos ...

architects are the creator of space

So the above photos are from my trip to Sri Lanka with the faculty members. The trip took us about 6 days and the places that we visited mainly was his houses, gallery and mostly hotels. The pictures above are pictures of Kandalama Hotel.
So in addition, what I would like to say about architecture from what I have experience and seen the spaces Geoffrey Bawa is that not only the architecture speaks on the exterior but in the interior as well where he arranges the spatial spaces with qualities and interacts emotionally. You could feel your senses being aware of his architecture. Some may prefer the architecture of deconstructivist or more to the extreme which excites me all the time, but I would prefer to settle something like Bawa, well maybe for now. I don't know.

terima kasih kerana membaca. salam.
